Half the stress of a Disney trip isn't the rides. It's the getting there: the Skyliner line at rope drop, the bus that doesn't come, the drive up from South Florida, the stroller you either rent or haul. I've written a post on each, built from real family complaints and official sources. This page is the hub.
Getting from point A to point B on time is a big part of my step-by-step Disney plan, too.
Skyliner and bus lines
Families tell us long morning Skyliner lines and breakdowns cost them Early Theme Park Entry, the very reason they stayed onsite. Skyliner and Bus Lines at Disney World: How to Not Waste Early Entry (post coming soon) covers timing, backup plans and when a paid ride is worth it.
Dad logic: always have a Plan B for the morning you can't afford to lose.
Brightline vs driving from South Florida
We're a South Florida family, so this one is personal. Brightline vs Driving to Disney World from South Florida (post coming soon) runs the real cost for a family of four or five. Remember that Brightline's Orlando station is at the airport, not Disney, so you still need a ride from there.
Strollers: rent in the park, get one delivered, or bring your own
- Disney World Stroller Rental: The 2026 Dad Guide covers the three options and Disney's own rules, including that Disney's rental strollers can't leave the park.
- Kingdom Strollers vs ScooterBug vs Disney: A Dad's Fair Comparison (post coming soon) puts the delivery companies side by side, including a negative Kingdom review, because a fair comparison has to include it.
If a delivered rental fits your trip, you can check dates and models at Kingdom Strollers. Compare it with the other options in the post above before you book. Whatever you rent or bring, check Disney's stroller size limits first.
Using a scooter instead? The scooter battery post lives in the Disney World accessibility guide.
Disney Cruise from Port Everglades
Sailing on Disney Believe out of Fort Lauderdale? Disney Cruise from Port Everglades (post coming soon) covers embarkation day, parking, rideshare pickups and the problems families have reported at the port.
Getting around with kids: quick rules
- Leave earlier than you think for rope drop, especially on the first morning.
- Keep a phone charger with you. Every backup plan runs through an app.
- Fold the stroller before the bus pulls up. Your fellow passengers will thank you.
Haven't bought park tickets yet? We've bought through Undercover Tourist and had a great experience. Compare their price to Disney's for your dates.
Staying at a DVC resort? Location matters as much as the room. My free DVC savings guide explains how families rent them.
Keep going
The bottom line
Plan the transportation like it's an attraction, because on a bad morning it decides your whole day. For the rest of the trip, the $27 Disney Plan has the park plays and checklists.
