The Short Answer on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 runs on 25 select nights from November 8 to December 22 at Magic Kingdom, 7:00 p.m. to midnight, with party guests admitted from 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $189–$229 per adult plus tax, and $10 less for kids 3–9.
Dates still listed as open (Nov 2): Nov 29, then Dec 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 17. Of those, the December weeknights tend to be the quieter pick, but I can't promise crowd levels. If you have a specific night in mind, check Disney's ticket page today.
My call: that is a reason to pick your night calmly, not a reason to wait. Disney has never discounted a party ticket. A slow-selling night just stays at full price until it's gone.

- Best for a first-timer who wants the full Christmas feel: the first two weeks of December, avoiding Fridays
- Buy first if you're going to buy at all: your workable night, once Disney confirms it is still available. Nov 29 is the only Thanksgiving-week date on WDW News Today's Nov 2 list.
- Skip if: your kids are under five and the budget is tight. Read the "Who Should Skip" section before spending $800 on one evening.
I've Read This Signal Wrong Before
On September 2 I wrote a post called MNSSHP 2026: It Didn't Sell Out. One Halloween party night, August 30, had gone off with tickets still available for the first time in years, and I treated it as a sign the party was cooling off.
It wasn't. By September 9 there were six nights left. By the evening of September 17 there were zero. All 38 nights sold out, and anyone who read my post and waited paid more, then got nothing.
I've left that post up with the corrections on it rather than quietly rewriting it, and I'm linking it here on purpose. Because the Christmas party is now showing a much bigger version of the same signal, and I don't want to make the same mistake at a larger scale.
A night that isn't selling isn't getting cheaper. It's just still available. Those are different things.
Here is what's actually true right now, and what I'd do with it.

Disney hasn't published a simple date-by-date price list outside the ticket checkout, so check the exact price for your night on Disney's purchase page before you commit. The pattern in past years has been cheapest in mid-November and most expensive around Thanksgiving and the final December weeks.

Will Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Sell Out?
Last year (2025)
- Opening night sold out September 10
- More dates went later in September and through mid-to-late October
- Roughly half the season was gone before the first party even happened
- Every night ultimately sold out, as it has every year since the party returned after 2020
This year so far (2026)
- Roughly 17 nights reported sold out as of Nov 4, including opening night, Nov 15, Nov 24 and 25, and Dec 1, 3, 6, 20 and 22. WDW News Today listed seven nights left on Nov 2; MouseDining counted eight on Nov 3. Neither count is live Disney checkout confirmation. Nov 19, Nov 27, Dec 4 and Dec 18 remain unconfirmed. The first, Nov 24, sold out Sept 28 per Inside the Magic's report.
- The starting price went up $20 this year, which likely matters more than people think: the cheapest nights used to be the first to go
- Disney now runs a second Christmas party, Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios, and it's pulling some of the same families
That changes one thing about my advice: the Thanksgiving-week nights are the first to go this year, probably because families already at Disney that week are buying them. Nov 24 and 25 are gone. Nov 29 is the only Thanksgiving-week night on WDW News Today's Nov 2 available list. Nov 27 remains unconfirmed, so check Disney rather than planning around it. Everything else above still holds: no discount has ever been offered, and a slow-selling night stays at full price until it's gone.
So yes, demand is softer. That's real, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
But look at what "softer" meant for Halloween this year: the season still sold out completely, just in a different order. The late-August nights lagged, and everything else went. I'd expect Christmas to behave the same way, opening night, the cheapest nights, and the last pre-Christmas nights go first; a few mid-week nights hang around longer. What I would not expect is a price drop. There has never been one.
If you have only one workable night, buy it now. Disney hasn't discounted party tickets, and the nights that remain are going. If you have three possible nights, check each one on Disney's ticket page today before choosing. With only seven or eight nights left in the reports, I would not wait a week.
The Best Night for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026, by Family Type
1. 🏆 My pick: a remaining December weeknight
Dates still listed as open (Nov 2): Nov 29, then Dec 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 17. Of those, the December weeknights tend to be the quieter pick, but I can't promise crowd levels. If you have a specific night in mind, check Disney's ticket page today.
Nov 19 and Dec 4 are no longer on WDW News Today's reported available list, and Dec 6 is reported sold out. I am not recommending those dates as available.
2. Best for the full December feeling: check Dec 8 or 10
Dec 6 is now reported sold out. Dec 8 and 10 remain on the Nov 2 reported list; confirm them on Disney's ticket page. First two weeks of December, weeknights. Busier than mid-November, cheaper and calmer than the last two weeks. This is the window I'd pick for a first-timer who wants it to feel like Christmas.
3. Opening night (Nov 8), only if it's specifically what you want
Opening night sold out first in each of the last two years. This year it has sold out too. If being there first mattered, that ship has sailed; any remaining night is the same show.
4. Thanksgiving week (Nov 24, 25, 27, 29), go in with eyes open
Nov 24 and 25 are already sold out. Nov 29 is reported available as of Nov 2. Nov 27 remains unconfirmed; check Disney's ticket page. If you want one, confirm on Disney's ticket page and don't wait. Highest crowd pressure of the season, highest hotel prices, and parties on a holiday week make Magic Kingdom day-crowds lumpier. 5. Dec 18, 20, 22, the last three
Dec 20 and 22 have sold out; Dec 18 is absent from the Nov 2 available list, but its current availability remains unconfirmed; check Disney's ticket page. Closest to Christmas, among the priciest, and historically quick to sell. Also worth knowing: with a party still running on December 22, Disney's regular-hours Christmas parade and fireworks for day guests aren't likely to start before December 23. If you're there that week without a party ticket, check the schedule before you assume.

Dad Tip
Magic Kingdom closes to regular day guests at 6:00 p.m. on party nights, which keeps a lot of people out of the park all day. Party days are often the best days to do Magic Kingdom during the day, then either stay for the party or leave with everyone else at 6. We've planned around this for years and it's one of the few Disney crowd tricks that still works.
What One Christmas Party Night Costs a Family of Four
Two adults and two kids aged 3–9 on a $199 night: $199 + $199 + $189 + $189 = $776, plus tax. On a $229 night it's over $900.
That's the same trap I wrote about in the mistakes post, a party ticket has a deadline and feels urgent, so it gets bought first, and then the hotel gets squeezed to pay for it. I've done exactly that.
The order I'd do it in now:
- Price the room for the week.
- Decide whether the party still fits.
- Then pick the night.
For perspective: $776 is roughly two nights in a Deluxe villa studio if you rent DVC points rather than paying Disney's rate. If the party is what's pushing your trip over budget, the room is almost always where the slack is. Plug your dates into the DVC rental calculator before you buy either.

Planning a December party night? Tiana's Bayou Adventure closes Monday, Nov 2. Disney's attraction page says it is expected to reopen in December 2026. Friday, Dec 18 is the operating-calendar target reported by Disney Tourist Blog on Oct 9, not a formally announced reopening date. Treat it as a target and check Disney's current operating schedule before planning around it.
The party ends at midnight. Tens of thousands of people leave at once. Where your bed is at 12:15 a.m. matters more than people expect, especially with a sleeping kid.
Tier 1, Walk home
Bay Lake Tower ($24/pt)
Bay Lake Tower is a walk from Magic Kingdom, no bus, no monorail line at midnight. It's in David's Regular tier year-round, which makes it the cheapest way I know to walk back from a party. I compared it head-to-head in Bay Lake Tower vs. Polynesian.
Tier 2, Monorail
Polynesian ($29/pt at 7–11 months)
One monorail stop or a boat. More expensive per point, and the monorail queue after a party is real, but it moves, and the resort is the one kids remember.
Tier 3, Cheapest villa
Saratoga Springs or Old Key West ($22/pt)
The cheapest DVC resorts to rent, with the biggest rooms for the money. The trade-off on a party night is a bus back from Magic Kingdom at midnight. Fine for a family of big kids. Harder with a toddler asleep on your shoulder.

Arrive at 4:00, not 7:00.
Do the rides before 7.
Pick one parade and one fireworks, not both of everything.
The cookies and cocoa are included.
Bring a stroller even if you think you don't need one.

Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Worth It?
Buy it if:
- Your kids are roughly 5–12 and can realistically last until 10 p.m.
- It's your family's first holiday trip and the parade is the memory you're after
- You're already doing Magic Kingdom that day and can use the 4 p.m. early entry
- You've priced the room first and it still fits
Skip it if:
- Your youngest is under four. You'll pay close to $190 for them to fall asleep before the parade. Kids under three are free, which tells you who Disney expects to still be awake.
- The ticket is what's pushing the trip over budget
- You're only in Magic Kingdom once and would rather have a full normal day
- You mainly want holiday decorations and a Christmas vibe, EPCOT's Festival of the Holidays (Nov 27 – Dec 30) is included with park admission, and the Candlelight Processional guide covers the one EPCOT holiday thing worth planning around.
The Bottom Line
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 is selling slower than it has in years, and that's genuinely useful, you can pick your night instead of grabbing whatever's left.
What it isn't is a discount signal. I got burned reading Halloween that way a month ago. Check the remaining December weeknights for the Christmas feeling, buy once you've priced the room and confirmed availability, and if you only have one possible night, check it today.
