The Short Answer
On September 10, 2026, Disney released its first batch of Disney 2027 spring offers. Four of them, and they are not interchangeable:
- Up to 25% off select rooms — select nights January 3 through April 29, 2027
- Up to $250 per night off select 4-night/4-day room-and-ticket packages — select nights January 3 through July 28, 2027
- Up to 30% for Disney Visa Cardmembers — stays of five nights or longer, January and February weekends, select nights January 3 – April 29, 2027
- Up to 35% for Annual Passholders — select nights January 3 – April 29, 2027
The detail that matters most, and that I've already seen reported wrong in two places: the room discount and the package discount do not run for the same length of time. The room-only offer stops April 29. Only the package offer reaches into summer. If you're planning May, June or July 2027, "up to 25% off rooms" is not available to you.
When Disney's offer wins: you're a Passholder, you hold a Disney Visa and want five-plus nights in January or February, you want a Value or Moderate resort, or you want Disney's cancellation flexibility.
When renting DVC points still wins: you want a Deluxe villa with a kitchen and laundry, you're travelling May through July 2027, you're staying longer than a week, or you're a family of five-plus who needs the space more than the perks.
My honest take: a 25% discount off Disney's published Deluxe rate and a DVC rental are not the same product, and comparing the percentages is the wrong move. Compare the two final numbers for your actual dates. That's the only comparison that means anything.
What Disney Actually Announced (Verified Against Disney's Own Page)
I'm going to be precise here because this is the section that people will act on, and because secondhand summaries of this announcement have already blurred the windows together.

Three things worth noticing
1. "Up to" is the whole game. The top of that range typically lands on the most expensive rooms on the least popular dates. A 25% headline does not mean 25% on the room you want during your kids' spring break. It might mean 10%.
2. The package offer is a bundle, not a room rate. Up to $250 a night off a 4-night/4-day package is a genuinely large number — but it requires you to buy four days of Disney tickets as part of it. If you were going to buy discounted tickets elsewhere, or you're a Passholder, or you wanted five nights and three park days, the package math changes completely. Compare it against your real itinerary, not against a room rate.
3. Passholders have the best deal here by some distance. Up to 35% off, and the same January-to-April window. If you hold a pass and were already planning early 2027, this is the offer to price first.
What Else Disney Confirmed the Same Day
Three other 2027 dates dropped alongside the offers, and two of them have deadlines attached.
- EPCOT International Festival of the Arts: January 15 – March 1, 2027. A week longer than usual — Disney extended it. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series returns.
- EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival: March 10 – May 31, 2027. Note the closing date: it ends on Memorial Day, which is how it used to run and a change from recent years.
- Disney After Hours 2027 dates — and this one has a clock on it. Magic Kingdom runs select nights January 11 – July 19, Hollywood Studios January 16 – August 25, EPCOT January 21 – August 19.
⏰ Guests at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, the Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green could buy After Hours tickets starting September 10. Everyone else can buy starting September 22, 2026. If you want a specific After Hours night in early 2027, that's the date to have in your calendar.
Worth knowing: Annual Passholders and DVC Members save $30 per ticket on the EPCOT and Hollywood Studios After Hours events.
The Comparison People Actually Want, and Why It's the Wrong One
The question in everyone's inbox this week is some version of: Disney is offering 25% off — is renting DVC points still worth it?
I understand the instinct, and I think the framing is a trap, for one structural reason.
A Disney room discount discounts a Disney hotel room. A DVC rental gets you a villa.
Those are different products. A Deluxe Studio has a kitchenette, a split bath and usually more square footage than a standard Deluxe room. A one-bedroom has a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in the room, which on a seven-night trip with kids is not a luxury, it's a logistics change — you do laundry instead of packing fourteen outfits, and you eat breakfast in the room instead of buying four breakfasts a day.
So "25% off" versus "renting points" is comparing a percentage to a product. The only comparison that means anything is: what is my final, all-in number for my exact dates, each way? That's also the question behind renting points vs. booking direct with Disney.
Where the discount lands
Disney's offer is a percentage off Disney's own published rate — a rate that, for Deluxe resorts, is high by design. Historically, renting DVC points has run roughly 40–60% below Disney's published Deluxe rates, depending on resort and season.
A 25% discount narrows that gap. In a lot of cases it does not close it. But "a lot of cases" is not "your case," and the gap is much narrower at the cheaper end of the DVC range than at the top — see cheapest DVC resorts to rent.

Checked on the brokers' own pricing pages on September 17, 2026 — not a blog post, not a search snippet:

And one number that is not available, because I got this wrong publicly earlier this year and I'd rather over-correct: there is no "$19 per point" offer running. The page advertising it is dated February 2024 and still ranks. The broker's own discounted-points page currently reads "No discounted points at this time." Don't plan around it. I write about renting points, I'm an affiliate for the brokers, and I still think there are four clear cases where you should just take Disney's deal.
1. You're an Annual Passholder. Up to 35% off is the strongest offer in the set and DVC rental brokers have nothing that matches it on a like-for-like room.
2. You hold a Disney Visa and want five-plus nights on a January or February weekend. Up to 30% on exactly the stay pattern the offer is built for. Narrow, but if you fit it, take it.
3. You wanted a Value or Moderate resort anyway. This is the big one people miss. DVC has no Value or Moderate equivalent. If Pop Century or Caribbean Beach was your plan, renting DVC points is not a discount — it's an upgrade you'd be paying for. A 25% discount on the resort you actually wanted beats a rental on a resort you didn't.
4. You need cancellation flexibility. This is the real, underrated cost of renting points and I want to state it plainly rather than bury it. A discounted Disney room keeps Disney's standard cancellation terms. A DVC rental generally does not refund cash — the brokers work on a credit-based cancellation structure, with cash refunds only available if you buy an optional protection policy at extra cost. If there's a meaningful chance your dates move, price that in. I've covered the mechanics in is renting DVC points safe.
When Renting Points Still Wins for 2027
1. You're travelling May, June or July 2027. The room-only discount ends April 29. The only offer that reaches those months is the 4-night/4-day package, and that's a different purchase. For a May–July villa stay, the rental market is where the savings are.
2. You want the villa, not the room. Kitchen, laundry, space. On any trip longer than four nights with kids, these change how the trip runs.
3. You're a family of five or more. Disney's standard rooms mostly sleep four. So do most DVC studios, which is its own problem — and if you're at six-plus, honestly, read Vrbo vs renting DVC points before you book either one. I priced the same week both ways and the vacation home won by about $1,700.
4. You're staying more than a week. Percentage discounts scale, but so does the rack-rate gap, and the per-point structure tends to pull further ahead the longer the stay.
5. Your dates are flexible and you'll look at confirmed reservations. These are stays a member already booked and released. Dates and resort are fixed, the price is often lower, and it's instant.

How I'd Actually Decide This for a 2027 Trip
Step 1 — Pin your dates first. Not the offer window. Your school calendar and your PTO. If your dates land January to April, you have four offers to price. If they land May to July, you have one, and it's a package.
Step 2 — Check whether you're in a special category. Passholder or Disney Visa with five-plus nights? Price that first; it's likely to win.
Step 3 — Decide room or villa, honestly. If a standard Deluxe room is genuinely fine for your family, Disney's discount is competing directly and might win. If you need a kitchen or a second bedroom, Disney's offer isn't really in the conversation.
Step 4 — Get both actual numbers. A quote from Disney with the offer applied, and quotes from both rental brokers. They price differently on different dates — I compared them in DVC Rental Store vs. David's. Quotes are free from both, take the better one.

Step 5 — Don't wait on the room. Whichever way you go, the 7–11 month window is when DVC selection is good, and Disney's offers are capped at "select rooms on select nights," which means inventory. Both sides of this reward booking early. The best time to rent DVC points breaks down the two separate clocks that decide your price.
Does This Change the "Should You Book 2027 At All" Answer?
A little, and in one direction.
I wrote in August that should you book Disney World in 2027 comes down to a good year to go and a bad year to go specifically for the new rides — five lands announced at D23, almost none of them opening in 2027, and a lot of construction wall in the meantime. That part hasn't changed.
What has changed is the price signal. Disney putting four discounts on the table in September, for travel starting in January, is early. Discounts released this far ahead generally suggest bookings are softer than Disney would like. For a family that was already thinking about early 2027, that's straightforwardly good news — and it's a reason to price the trip now rather than assume prices only move up.
I'll be honest that I said the opposite emphasis a few weeks ago: that post leans on 2027 rack rates rising. Rates rising and Disney discounting to fill rooms are both true at once, and the second one is the part you can act on.
