Disney's Holiday Room Offers 2026 vs. Renting DVC Points: Which One Saves More?
Four discounts, all ending around Christmas Eve. Here's who each one is actually for, and how to compare any of them with a DVC rental using your real dates.

The Short Answer
Disney's holiday room offers, as described on the Disney Parks Blog on October 6, 2026:
- General public: up to 20% off select rooms, select nights October 4 – December 24
- Annual Passholders: up to 30% off select rooms, select nights October 4 – December 24
- Florida residents: up to 25% off, select nights October 19–31, November 15–28 and December 13–24
- Disney+ Perks subscribers: up to 25% off rooms on a 4-night, 4-day package, plus a free Park Hopper add-on, select nights September 25 – October 8, October 19–31, November 15–28 and December 13–24
Disney says booking for these opened June 25, 2026. All four say "select," and the terms and exclusions live on Disney's offers page.
When Disney's offer is the better move: you're an Annual Passholder, you're a Florida resident traveling in one of the three windows, you want a Value or Moderate resort (DVC has none), or you want Disney's own booking flexibility.
When renting DVC points still wins: you want a Deluxe villa with a kitchen and laundry, you're a family of five or more who needs the space, or you're staying five-plus nights where the per-night price matters most.
The honest part: I can't give you one "winner," because Disney publishes no list of discounted nightly rates and the rental price depends on the points a given room costs on each night. The only comparison that matters is your final number for your exact dates, both ways.
What Overlaps With the Holiday Season
Most families care about specific nights, so here's the calendar the offers sit inside:
| Date | What's happening |
|---|---|
| Nov 7 | Jollywood Nights begins (Hollywood Studios; select nights through Jan 5) |
| Nov 8 – Dec 22 | Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom; select nights) |
| Nov 13 – Jan 6 | Holiday celebration period across Walt Disney World |
| Nov 15–28 | Florida resident and Disney+ Perks offer window |
| Nov 27 – Dec 30 | EPCOT Festival of the Holidays and the Candlelight Processional |
| Dec 13–24 | Final Florida resident / Disney+ Perks window |
| Dec 24 | The general and Passholder offers end |
Notice the gap: the offers stop at Christmas Eve. If you want Christmas Day through New Year's, none of the four apply. That's usually the most expensive week of the year, and it's the week these discounts skip.
If you're choosing a party night, my guides on which Christmas party night to buy and Jollywood Nights vs. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will help you narrow the dates first. Pick the nights, then price the room.
What "Up To" Really Means in Disney's Holiday Room Offers 2026
I've written this before and it still holds. The top of an "up to" range typically lands on the least popular rooms on the least popular nights. "Up to 30% off" for passholders does not mean 30% on a Deluxe room the week of Thanksgiving. It might mean 15%. Disney decides which nights and which room types are in the discount pool, and the pool is "select."
Two practical consequences:
- Always price your exact nights with and without the offer applied. Don't plan on the headline number.
- A good-looking discount can still lose to a rental, or beat one, depending on the room. Both happen.
How to Compare Against Renting DVC Points
Here's the method, with no invented numbers:
- Get Disney's price for your room and nights. Apply whichever offer you qualify for. Write down the total with taxes.
- Get the rental price. Take the number of points your room needs for those nights and multiply by the rental rate. Use my DVC rental calculator to do this with your dates.
- Add what the rental price leaves out. Cancellation terms (see below), and what you don't get as a renter (see what DVC renters don't get).
- Compare the final totals. Not the percentages.
Current rental rates, checked on the brokers' own pages on October 7, 2026:
| Tier | Rate | Resorts |
|---|---|---|
| Advantage | $22/pt | Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Hilton Head, Vero Beach |
| Regular | $24/pt | Bay Lake Tower, Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek, Animal Kingdom, Riviera; also Premium resorts booked inside 7 months |
| Premium | $26/pt | BoardWalk, Grand Floridian, Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, Aulani (7–11 months out) |
| Platinum | $29/pt | Beach Club, Polynesian, Cabins at Fort Wilderness (7–11 months out) |
Those are David's published rates (from its cost calculator). DVC Rental Store doesn't publish a flat per-point rate; you request a quote, and its discounted-points page read "No discounted points at this time" today. So for DVC Rental Store, request a quote for the same dates and compare.
Because the holiday dates you want are mostly under 7 months out, the Premium resorts are priced at the Regular tier on David's chart right now. That's the one structural thing that might change your answer, so it's worth getting the quote.

The Cancellation Difference
This is the cost people skip.
- A Disney room booking is governed by Disney's cancellation terms. Check them when you book; I'm not going to summarize something that changes by offer.
- A DVC Rental Store standard booking gives a credit toward a future rental, not cash, on cancellation. Their Cashback Protection option refunds to your card and can be added up to 121 days before check-in (from their emails and cancellation page).
If your holiday plans might change (illness, school schedules, work), that difference is real money. Price it in.

Who Should Take Disney's Offer
- Annual Passholders. Up to 30% is the strongest of the four, and it runs the longest window.
- Florida residents in the three windows. Up to 25% on exactly those dates.
- Anyone who wants a Value or Moderate resort. DVC has no equivalent. If Pop Century or Caribbean Beach was your plan, a rental isn't an option.
- Disney+ Perks subscribers who need tickets anyway. A free Park Hopper add-on plus a room discount on a 4-night package can be a good bundle. Read the terms and price the package against buying tickets separately.
Who Should Price a Rental First
- Families who want a kitchen and laundry on a long holiday trip.
- Families of five or more, where a villa or a studio that sleeps 5 changes the math.
- Anyone traveling December 25 – January 1, when none of Disney's offers apply.
Don't Forget the Tickets
On October 6, single-day ticket prices went up at three of the four parks (details in my price increase post). Multi-day tickets didn't change. If you're building a trip around the holidays, price the room and the tickets together, and consider an extra park day rather than another peak single day.
Staying with little ones? A stroller delivered to your resort is cheaper than buying one for the week.
