Walt Disney World 55th anniversary merchandise flat-lay: mug, tee, travel cup, pennant and pin

    The Short Answer

Walt Disney World turned 55 on October 1, 2026 (Magic Kingdom opened October 1, 1971). Disney's Walt Disney World 55th anniversary merchandise collection is in the parks now at the Emporium and Creations Shop "while supplies last," per the Disney Parks Blog, and a first batch is on DisneyStore.com. The Disney Store lists 13 items with prices from $14.99 to $149.99, plus a $25–$500 gift card.

If I were spending, I'd start with the mug ($16.99), the travel cup ($27.99) and the checklist tee ($39.99). The MagicBand+ ($44.99) is the one to think about if your family uses bands. Skip the $129 plaque replica unless you collect.

Prices and availability below were checked on Disney Store's own search results on October 14. They change.

In the parks, the Disney Parks Blog also showed a backpack, tumbler, plush, hat, zip-up, a red 55th tee and blue 55th ears. It gave no prices, and I did not see those on the Disney Store results.

    What I'd Buy

Under $20: the mug ($16.99). Retro graphics: Florida, a sailboat, Cinderella Castle and the Contemporary. Disney's description is all I have; I have not held one. It's the easiest "I was there for the 55th" souvenir for someone who isn't a collector.

For the park bag: the 33 oz. travel cup ($27.99). Mickey and Minnie on one side, a reusable straw and a silicone stopper. A drink cup that comes home and gets used is better than a souvenir that sits.

For a trip photo: the checklist tee ($39.99). Pale blue, Mickey marching past Cinderella Castle. Cheaper than the hoodie, and it works in Florida.

For the band-wearers: MagicBand+ ($44.99). The strap collage includes Mickey, Figment and all four parks. MagicBand+ reacts to select park interactions with lights and gestures, so it's worth it only if you'll actually use that. A regular MagicBand is the cheaper way to carry your ticket. I did not compare it against other MagicBand+ prices.

For cold nights: the hoodie ($69.99). Embroidered Mickey applique, drawstring hood, side pockets. A Florida December can be chilly, but this is the price of a nice sweatshirt, so weigh it against your packing list.

For collectors only: the $129 plaque replica of the Magic Kingdom's dedication plaque (the real one is at the flagpole on Main Street, U.S.A.), the $149.99 limited edition Cinderella doll, and the limited-release pin.

First-choice for custom shirts: My own store has Disney-trip shirts that aren't official merch: Dad at Disney on TeePublic. (My own store.)

Is It Worth Buying Online vs. in the Park?

The honest answer is "I can't tell you yet." The Disney Parks Blog says select items are coming to DisneyStore.com; the Disney Store lists 13 so far and the parks have more, with no prices published for the park-only pieces. Online you get a full list, a price and shipping before you commit. In the park you get the full range, plus the chance to see sizes.

What I'd do: check the shipping line at checkout before you commit. I haven't verified any free-shipping threshold or code.

    Plan Around It

If you're heading down for the holidays, the anniversary overlaps with a lot: see Disney's holiday room offers vs. renting DVC points and Disney's newest resort, Lakeshore Lodge. If you missed it, Disney just raised ticket prices too. All my money-saving tools live at dadatdisney.co/tools.
